WHAT WE DO
Advisors is a boutique corporate and real estate transactional law firm formed on January 1, 2000. We have a proven track record of negotiating and closing sophisticated transactions, and our attorneys have hundreds of years of legal experience combined.
Advisors specializes in negotiating and closing complex transactions in a variety of areas, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, leasing, real estate purchases and sales, organization of new business entities, private placements, joint ventures, licensing, employment, and general corporate and real estate agreements.
Advisors counsels and negotiates transactions for companies in a wide array of industries, including entertainment, finance, pharma/biotechnology, consumer products, food and beverage, manufacturing, real estate, and professional services. We also advise and represent high net-worth individuals and family offices.
We are often asked about our name. Unlike traditional law firms that bear the names of their founders, Advisors was developed with a team model, and our name reflects our approach to our practice.
Although the quality and sophistication of our practice rivals that of any elite law firm, Advisors’ transaction costs are generally lower than our Big Law counterparts because we are all experienced attorneys. By not employing junior associates, we do not burden our clients with the learning curve of inexperienced lawyers. Our experts can handle any matter either individually or in a small group (generally no more than 2 attorneys to a specific matter), allowing us to manage transactions much more efficiently than firms stuck with a partner/associate pyramid structure.
We primarily bill on an hourly basis. At appropriate times, however, we are open to alternative billing arrangements, including fixed fees, contingent fees, and equity positions, especially when our clients believe that such arrangements align our interests more closely with their business objectives. Because of the boutique nature of our practice, we are able to maintain a flexible approach to each client engagement and transaction.
Traditional law firms generate a majority of their income from litigation. Despite that fact, we do not provide litigation services, as we generally view litigation as an expensive and inefficient process. When our clients are faced with disputes, we aggressively advocate for our client's interests and focus on finding creative solutions to difficult problems, without any conflict or pressure of having to market the services of litigator colleagues. In rare instances where our clients are forced to deal with a lawsuit, we can recommend and supervise outside counsel to ensure that litigation is handled in a strategic, cost-effective manner, consistent with our client's objectives.
